Glimpse at Next Lazer Tag system finally arrives...

For the past year the Lazer Tag enthusiast community has been waiting in anticipation to see where the next generation of the Lazer Tag gear would go. Somehow, engaget.com has gotten the jump on the gun. The new series has a whole new feel to the style of the tagger and the article leaves many questions in one's mind. Mainly the mentioning of being able to use an Iphone or Ipad Touch as a means to make a new scanner style visual aid. The main question is, do you need a $200 I-device to make the new taggers work? Only time will tell as more news leaks out on the new gear.

Leading the new product line is the LAZERTAG 2 BLASTER set available in August for the approximate retail price on $69.99. To experience the LAZER TAG game, players download the free LAZER TAG app to their iPhone or iPod Touch device, connect their device to their LAZER TAG blaster, and find themselves immersed in a world where video games and real life connect. Using either single or multi-player mode, players can engage in a LAZER TAG match featuring either real life worlds or virtual opponents. Each LAZER TAG blaster equipped with a device has a virtual firing range of over 250 feet and contains a ‘Heads Up Display', or HUD, which allows players to keep track of their gear and remaining power, while also providing a view of the augmented reality targets and enemies in the area. A virtual leaderboard keeps track of each player's profile and, with every successful mission, players will gain in-game access to upgradeable attacks, missions and gear. Tagfest 2012 Dates

Okay everyone, I guess I need to put down a date for Tagfest for those having to assign vacation days. I think the schedule we used for last year worked well so we are going to use the same time frame: Jun 20,21,22,23,24 Unless I get info back from a VIP or our land owner has a problem with that, it will be our date...so 90% certain we will use this date. Its late enough in the year that the park is closed off to ATV use because of fire hazards - so it should work well for us. Just have to deal with a few more bugs than normal.

Wed - Setup Day, game in the evening

Thurs - Setup Morning, start taking registrations - games in the evening

Fri - First full day of tag

Sat - Second full day of tag

Sun - Games in the morning till noon - tear down starts

Mon - Everyone should be off site and on their way home.
